Director's Message
Welcome to the Long Range Planning Division's website.
The Long Range Planning Division is a division of the Planning and Development Department and is responsible for updating and developing land use policy. The County of Santa Barbara's Comprehensive General Plan guides the development of the built environment. This office is additionally responsible for researching, analyzing, and working with the public on land use policies that address Federal and State mandates. The County of Santa Barbara has a rich history and tradition of working with communities to ensure that the public's values are expressed through land use planning documents that provide a vision of vibrant and balanced communities.
