Los Alamos Planning Advisory Committee (LAPAC)
Project Description
On
August 8, 2006, the Board of Supervisors created the Los Alamos Planning
Advisory Committee (LAPAC). The LAPAC is intended to function as a General
Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) with the mission to advise the Planning Commission
and the Board of Supervisors on preparation of a community plan update and
to review individual development projects for the community of Los Alamos.
The LAPAC shall act as the citizen advisory committee that provides input
to the public process. With regard to the plan update, the LAPAC's role included
gathering public input, participating in the goal setting process, and developing
recommendations relating to land uses and policies developed through the
course of the update process. On April 15, 2010, the LAPAC unanamously voted to recommend Planning Commission
and the Board of Supervisors approve the proposed Los Alamos Community Plan Update, culminating a four year effort by the community.
