Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) Ordinance Amendments

The Planning and Development Department is proposing to amend the County Land Use and Development Code (Case No. 16-00000-00014), the Montecito Land Use and Development Code (Case No. 16-00000-00015), and the Article II Coastal Zoning Ordinance (Case No. 16-00000-00016) in response to recent revisions to Government Code Section 65852.2 regarding the permitting and regulating of Accessory Dwelling Units.

On September 12, 2017, the County Board of Supervisors took no action on the proposed ordinance amendments to the County Land Use and Development Code and the Article II Coastal Zoning Ordinance, and directed staff to return to the Board at a future date with revised ordinances reflecting upcoming revisions in State law following review by the County and Montecito Planning Commissions.
