Annexation Policy
This project ensures that the County is positioned to maintain its financial health and the long-term integrity of the public services to those living within the unincorporated area. The project aims to establish County policies, objectives and a strategy for responding to proposed city and special district annexations, detachment formations, and other reorganizations. The policy document resulting from this analysis will serve to inform the County Executive Office and Board of Supervisors by identifying priorities for negotiation before the Santa Barbara Council of Governments (SBCAG) and during Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) review.
